Toronto firefighters were tasked with melting a massive ice block left by rapper Drake, causing safety issues for curious fans.

In an unexpected display, a gigantic iceberg constructed from numerous smaller ice blocks appeared without explanation in downtown Toronto on Tuesday. Measuring 4.5 meters wide, 6 meters long, and 4.5 meters high, the ice structure drew large crowds of fans eager to see the spectacle. Drake offered a cryptic clue, “It’s inside,” which led fans to believe it was related to the release of his new album, The Iceman.

Fans Flock to Iceberg Exhibition

The scene quickly turned chaotic as people gathered to witness the icy installation, and many attempted to accelerate the melting process. “We only had to follow the stream of water from four streets away,” one spectator remarked. “It’s much larger than I expected.” Amid the excitement, some individuals climbed the slippery ice, causing large chunks to fall dangerously among the crowd.

Authorities Step In to Ensure Public Safety

The situation escalated when some fans began using flammable materials to melt the ice, prompting intervention from city officials. Police managed the crowd while firefighters used a high-lift platform to spray warm water on the ice block. After several hours, enough ice had been melted to reveal the album’s release date, May 15, underneath the frozen mass.

Mayor’s Cool Reaction to Heated Incident

Despite the uproar, Mayor Chow of Toronto kept a level head, saying, “Everyone was a bit overenthusiastic, but it was creative and that’s what art and culture are about.” She acknowledged that while the stunt generated significant buzz for Drake, it also brought attention to Toronto. “He supports the city,” she added. No official permissions were required from Drake since the iceberg was placed on private property.
